What does your training matrix look like?

Most industrial facilities believe their Emergency Response Team is properly trained. Very few can actually prove it.

A proper Emergency Response Team training matrix should align responder duties with the standards that govern those duties.

For example:

• Fire Brigade Members — OSHA 1910.156 | NFPA 600 | NFPA 1081

• HazMat Responders — OSHA 1910.120(q) | NFPA 470

• Confined Space Rescue — OSHA 1910.146 | NFPA 350 | NFPA 1006

• Respiratory Protection / SCBA — OSHA 1910.134 | NFPA 1851

OSHA is clear:

Training must be commensurate with the duties responders are expected to perform.
